Verse 1: I woke up from a nightmare screaming. Horror movies before bed left me dreaming that I was the victim in my favorite scary films. I can’t seem to shake this feeling of foreboding. The ominous dread is real as the shape starts approaching. The boogeyman is here to take my life. Pre-Chorus: My greatest fears are realized, the day that horror films have come alive. Chorus: Michael Myers tried to murder me, Jason Voorhees chased me with a machete, and I can’t sleep with Freddy Krueger in my dreams. Leatherface wants to wear my skin, Norman Bates tried to check me in, and Pinhead wants to torture me in hell, that’s how I know horror movies are real. Verse 2: I’ve seen all the Scream’s, so I know the rules. Texas Chainsaw taught me to avoid power tools. I know that any creepy clowns and dolls want me dead. Halloween gave me all my education on how to survive an attempted evisceration. If there’s a demon, the power of Christ compels me to run. Pre-Chorus: My greatest fears are realized, the day that horror films have come alive. Chorus: Michael Myers tried to murder me, Jason Voorhees chased me with a machete, and I can’t sleep with Freddy Krueger in my dreams. Bridge: Everyone’s entitled to one good scare, but I think this might be a bit much. I don’t want to be dismembered by a chainsaw. I see an axe coming straight for my head, any closer and I’ll soon be dead. My night of terrors has just begun. Chorus and Ending: Michael Myers tried to murder me, Jason Voorhees chased me with a machete, and I can’t sleep with Freddy Krueger in my dreams. Leatherface wants to wear my skin, Norman Bates tried to check me in, and Pinhead wants to torture me in hell. All the killers from my favorite scary movies have arisen to take my life from me, and I know I won’t make it through the night. That’s how I know horror movies are real.
